2023 Plant Sale a Huge Success!

Every year, area gardeners begin lining up well in advance of the 10:00 a.m. start time, hoping to zero in on the best of the season’s offerings at the Belfast Garden Club’s Annual Plant Sale. This year was no exception, though those waiting in line, certainly didn’t expect to be welcomed with freshly baked goodies served up by members of the club. This proved to set the stage for another outstanding effort to deliver local gardeners an outstanding selection of flowers, vegetables, herbs and other garden-related items to launch the season.

Community support is the cornerstone of the Plant Sale’s success. All of the plants and other sale items were provided by club members, area businesses, or members of the local gardening community. For the first time this year, hundreds of seedlings were grown by club members. At the end of the day, the few plants left were donated to the Stockton Springs Library for its plant sale the following weekend.

The Club feels privileged to live in a community where local residents, businesses and organizations so willingly join forces to support its mission. As a result, the Club is able to maximize its support of public gardens, local scholarships and camperships, school programs, and garden literacy. We are so very grateful to those listed below, as well as the scores of unnamed volunteers who contributed in so many ways. Thank you all!
