Open Gardens

Every summer, we work with friends and neighbors to open up at least one spectacular private garden to visitors each week. Wander shaded paths, delight in legacy plantings, learn from newly developed designs.

Your donation of $5 supports our educational programs and public-service activities, including our 13 public gardens and scholarships for Waldo County students learning horticulture, farming, and related subjects.

You can buy a discounted season ticket at Spring membership meetings or at any Open Garden. You can take a nostalgic look at last year’s gardens here.

  • All gardens are open 10 am – 4 pm.
  • Yes, even in the rain!
  • Photography is allowed with permission of the gardener.
  • Please no dogs.
  • Restrooms are not available at the gardens.

We’re always courting the very best gardens in our region for next year’s season. Do you have one? If so, contact us
