Plan for the Plant Sale

It’s time for gardeners and gardening-adjacent folks to get ready for the plant sale of the year: the Belfast Garden Club sale, scheduled for Saturday, May 25  from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Steamboat Landing and the Belfast Boathouse, 34 Commercial St.

The sale offers 500 plants as well as garden-related items such as tools, books, plant stakes, and statuary. A number of special items will be offered through a silent auction. Expect stupendous. 

The highly anticipated annual sale, one of the club’s most important fundraisers, offers up perennials, annuals, herbs, shrubs, and pollinating natives such as butterfly weed and columbine. Shoppers will find plants that grow in full sun, part sun, or shade and even in the house.

Among the dozens of sponsors who contribute to the sale are Aubuchon Hardware, Bahner Farm, Plants Unlimited, and others. The full list is still forming.
