Belfast Garden Club Seeks Local Artwork for Publicity of 2025 Events

In collaboration with Waterfall Arts, the Belfast Garden Club invites local artists to submit artwork that will be featured on promotional posters (typically about 9” x 12”) for our two major fundraising events in 2025: the annual Plant Sale on Memorial Day weekend and the Open Garden Days, which feature Waldo County gardens on summer Saturdays.

One piece for each event poster will be selected by a jury of Belfast Garden Club members and Waterfall Arts staff. Artists will be credited by name on the posters. Artists will retain all rights to their work.The Garden Club will provide a stipend of $250 to each selected artist. 

Posters featuring the selected artwork will be displayed at approximately 100 locations in the Belfast area, on social media, and on various websites. The Plant Sale will be advertised from May 1st through the plant sale on Saturday, May 24th, and Open Garden Days will be promoted from June 1st until late August. Posters will include artwork along with text that describes timing and location of these events. Text may overlap the artwork on the poster.

Artists are invited to submit up to two pieces of original, two-dimensional work, in color, in any medium.. Submissions of artwork DUE: Friday, March 14th by 5pm

Notifications made to artists: Tuesday, April 1st
