GreenStreets! is a Belfast urban tree-planting, protection, and advocacy program created in 1979 by Mike Hurley and a crew of helpers. Their efforts were sporadic, and sometimes they made mistakes. Still, the great majority of the 2000 trees they planted are flourishing today. In his talk, Hurley and a panel of others will report on recent and upcoming efforts to collaborate with other groups and make Belfast’s tree canopy more sustainable.
