Landscape of Change
Speaker: Catherine Schmitt, Schoodic Institute
Back in the 1880s, a group of Harvard students sparked conservation efforts that eventually led to the formation of Acadia National Park.
Environmental scientist Catherine Schmitt will walk us through an exciting project aimed at comparing the Champlain Society logbooks with contemporary data. She’ll talk about what’s been learned about MDI’s changing landscape so far, the value of collaboration for monitoring the climate crisis, and the ways everyone can participate in understanding landscapes of change.
