Who We Are
Founded in 1928, the Belfast Garden Club brings together neighbors, gardeners, and practitioners in sustained efforts to share the benefits of gardening, aid in protecting native flora and fauna, and promote the vitality and beauty of our area.
To do this, we operate as a 501-(c) (3) year-round:
- We’re governed by a seven-member board working with more than a half dozen standing committees.
- We’re supported by a fabulous array of partners.
- We thrive on the work and creativity of active, collaborative volunteers, and we’re always looking for more.
The nitty gritty:
We meet on the third Tuesday of the month from October to May at the Belfast Free Library and via Zoom. Each meeting kicks off with an informative, engaging, educational talk at noon—think wild blueberries, woodland plants, the changing environment, and, yes, we do brown-tailed moths. The membership meeting follows at 1:30 p.m.
With the Belfast Free Library, we co-sponsor an evening event during the winter, usually by Zoom, usually in March, Other events may sprout spontaneously so keep an eye on our Calendar.
The Board meets the first Monday of the month at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome to join our meetings.
